MANIFESTO
For me, drawing is a way to relax and express myself - it's great to free the ideas in my head onto the paper. 'Creating' things, is something I find very therapeutic, especially the creative process. Having the chance to learn and develop my creative skills professionally, working towards a career in Illustration, is exactly what I want. At the moment, I am focusing mostly on putting myself out of my comfort zone in order to really 'experiment' and find out more about myself and the different styles I can achieve and then develop from. I'm always looking to work with a different style and finding unique ways of working. Constantly changing and evolving, by learning from my own experiments and the work of others as I go. To do this I am going to work with different themes and potential projects until something REALLY clicks.
Once I am decided on a project that potentially offers my target audience something worthwhile and something they enjoy. That also suits me, my style and intentions whilst continuing to be challenging and exitcing... well.. then I will be more than happy.

Authorship explained...
Date: 27/11/2011
Time: 13.00pm
Mood: Feeling ok, considering I'm at work in the case note library :P
From the beginning to where I am now...
Well, Authorship. This will be an ongoing process where I record my progress each week. I made a start a few weeks ago when we were given topics to think about. We have to gather information, assemble it and work from it. The first topic was 'embarrasment' and the second was 'misery'. From these I did some rough sketches and have now moved forward with it. I now have a few ideas of my own to work with, although am also going to try to keep a broad range of ideas flowing through my sketchbook. In order to develop and experiment.
My first idea I'm going to experment with is: From 'existentialim' and 'embarrasment' - How alcohol effects us. Our thoughts and feelings. How it effects how we see ourselves and other people. I could try to capture different points of veiw, such as that of a sober person reacting to a drunk person and vice versa.
Different pubs and the atmosphere of pubs.

New Idea
Authorship is all about narrative.
New word 'Existentialism'.
With the new word in mind I have been thinking about how I can give my work a bit more direction. I also want to continue in the mindset of 'drawing all the time', 'observing' and 'trying out lots of things' but having a specific idea to work with will help give 'meaning' to my drawings.
I have considered, yet not yet experimented with, working on drawings that convey the effect alcohol has on us, how we see ourselves and how we see other people. Hopefully it links in appropriately with existentialism.
