Inspiration

Emily Carew Woodward.

I like her work because there is a good contrast between detail and simplicity.  Also it is very surreal so opens your imagination. She has an interesting use of colour. She doesn't seem to use bright colours very much and some her work reminds me of using tea stain. I'm not sure if she does or not.

Poemsss????

When I was young....'very young' of course. I used to read this and I loved it...
This is the sort of thing I am interested in experimenting with for my second year project. I like the idea of using or writing poems to illustrate as I feel they might stick in the readers mind more.

I like dis illustrator

Changing direction. A new idea! Again...

Christmas project out the way and now thinking about second year project...

I am trying to think about what I'd really like to do for my second year project. So far I have come up with something completely different to what I was leaning towards..

I am going to experiment with the idea of writing and Illustrating short stories for children, possibly poems, from the perspective of a couple of young animals at different times of year..

Right so... think.. a couple of kittens playing with xmas decorations and running around like crazy on Christmas day for example.

All of this has basically come from the fact that, over the Christmas project, I came up with this poem..

There were two little kittens
named Whiskers and Mittens
who loved nothing more but to play.
And at this time of year
it's ever so clear
that it's most fun on Christmas Day.
There's fairy lights, tinsel a magical tree!
Mince pies, what else can you see?

It's unfinished but you get the point. I'm just trying to work out whether I want to carry on with this idea or not.

Anyway, going to upload my latest creations which are products of the Christmas project and notes/drawings leading in the direction of this idea, yeah cjf9dndjskdklsks. Enjoy!
